Students are eligible to a range of discounts. You can obtain a rail card giving you 1/3 off rail fares and a TOTUM card giving you access to discounts from a wide range of retailers. You can find more details here and here. Students are exempt from paying council tax.

Universal credit is one of the benefits that one can claim from the government if their income is low. Most students are not entitled to universal credit, but some students are, for example, if you are responsible for a child (e.g., because you are a parent). You can find more details here. 

Disabled students are entitled to the Disabled Students’ Allowance of up to £27,783 a year for 2025/26 depending on individual circumstances. For more details, see here.
